STRIKE VOTE MANDATE
SPECIAL MEETINGS
November 16th 2023
Last week, you were notified of the four special component meetings scheduled for November 19th and 22th. Here are the latest details:
Sunday NOV 19
#1 in-person meeting from 1030AM to 12PM
Location: Mariott YUL Airport (NEAR US DÉPARTURES)
#2 Meeting via zoom open to all bases 7PM-9PM
Wednesday November 22nd
#3 In-person meeting from 13:30-15:30
Location: Holiday Inn Airport, 970 Dixon Road,Toronto, ON M9W 1J9
#4 Meeting via zoom open to all bases 4:30PM-6:30PM
**EXPRESS YOURSELVES AND ATTEND A SPECIAL MEETING!**
Unlike voting in an election or on a tentative agreement, strike mandates are voted on during special meetings.
To exercise your right to vote, you must attend one of the four (4) meetings.You can attend more than one meeting, but can only vote once.
Note that this method was used in previous negotiations, as well as at other locals and unions.
This year, in addition to special in-person meetings, we have scheduled two zoom meetings for those who are on layovers and who may not attend in person.

**We, therefore, ask our members for a STRONG strike mandate**
This mandate will ensure compliance with the provisions of the Canada Labor Code regarding the acquisition of the right to strike, as well as enabling the Bargaining Committee to utilize leverage at the bargaining table.
A strike mandate is good for 60 days.
Depending on when conciliation ends (earliest DEC 12th), the parties must respect a 21-day cooling off period before taking any job strike action.
