NOTICE OF UPCOMING AIR TRANSAT COMPONENT ELECTIONS – 2024

To: All Air Transat CUPE members
Date: October 19, 2023
In accordance with the Air Transat Component Bylaws, anyone wishing to be nominated should adhere to the following information:
Art 11 Members who wish to be nominated for one of the following Component Officer position shall file nomination papers with at least 50 signatures from eligible voters on the Membership list.
Component officers positions:
1 President,
1 Vice-President,
1 Secretary-Treasurer,
3 Trustees
One for each of the following terms: 3-year term, 2-year term or 1-year term
The Component Officer elections will be held January 9-19, 2024.
In December 2023, members will be sent the voting information to their personal email address.
Please update your personal email address with the Component Tabulating committee, if you haven’t done so already!
* The term of office for President, Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer shall be three (3) years, effective January 19, 2024 to January 18, 2027, except for Trustees, who will either fill a 3-year, 2-year or 1-year term.

NOTE: A candidate may be nominated for only one (1) Component position listed above and the candidate’s full name and intended position shall be disclosed clearly on each nomination sheet prior to soliciting signatures.
*For interested candidates, nomination sheets and instructions will be available from the Component Tabulating committee at attabulating@gmail.com
DEADLINE: Completed, current nomination sheets in their original form with original signatures (no photocopied signatures), along with a brief letter from the candidate accepting the nomination, must be received via Canada Post courier or registered mail no later than November 18, 2023 at 16:00 EST at the following address:

A Candidate Ballot Statement can be provided and sent via email to attabulating@gmail.com no later than November 26, 2023. The candidate ballot statement will accompany the voting package in December and cannot be longer than one page.
