The Fatigue Committee, named \u00ab Fatigue Safety Action Group \u00bb by Transport Canada, is an important element of the Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS). The FRMS of Air Transat is based on the Transport Canada Advisory Circular 700-046.<\/p>\n
The following definitions, adapted from this Advisory Circular, establish the framework of the Flight Attendant Fatigue Committee:<\/p>\n
Fatigue :<\/strong> A physiological state of reduced mental or physical performance capability resulting from sleep loss, extended wakefulness, physical activity or any combination thereof, that may impair a cabin crew member\u2019s ability to perform its safety and customer service duties.<\/p>\n Fatigue-related risk :<\/strong> A work-related source of potential fatigue that could cause a fatigue-related error and contribute to an incident during an operated flight.<\/p>\n Fatigue-related event :<\/strong> An error, contravention, occurrence or incident related to an undesired action or inaction by a cabin crew member who was probably in a fatigued state.<\/p>\n Mandate of the Flight Attendant Fatigue Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n The Fatigue Committee participates in the coordination of the fatigue management activities.
